This week in Grade 3/4 we started to explore the literacy center routine we will follow for the rest of the year! Each day as a whole group students got the chance to practice each center with the review focus of short vowel sounds. When we get into our literacy groups on Monday, each group will have a specific “focus” they are working on (example: the Bossy E making A say its own name) and each center they rotate through is targeted practice in their focus! Their targeted centers include: Teacher Time, Decodable, Roll & Read, Sort, Find & Spell, Heart Word Match and Making Words. We are excited to start this exciting routine to help support our confidence in literacy and our foundational reading and writing skills across all subjects.
