September 2 - 5

We had a fantastic start to the school year with getting to know each other, learning, and having lots of fun!

One highlight from our first week was our hexagon art project. Students created colorful hexagons representing unique things about themselves, their favourite ____ and what they did over the summer. We then connected them to others’ hexagons to physically show all the similarities and connections we have to one another. It was such a powerful way for the class to see how much they have in common, and create a strong sense of community right from the start.

We also did a STEM solo cup building challenge. In groups students had to complete task cards and challenges. At the end the students wanted to combine all the cups together to build a mega tower! They counted 157 cups in total and worked as a team to decide what they wanted to build. Take a look at what they made!

We’re off to an amazing beginning and I can’t wait for all the exciting learning adventures ahead this year!
